In the on again, off again battle over the draconian fare hikes and service cuts, the SEPTA Board voted unanimously at a special meeting today to hold off the cuts for at least two months. This now delays the implementation date from January 23 to February 27. The delay in the fare hikes and service cuts is due to Harrisburg's emergency $13 million funding given to SEPTA last week. The full amount will be dispersed once the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission gives its final approval on January 28, the same date as the next regular SEPTA Board meeting.
